The Be a PA Community is a FREE Facebook group where we come together to share questions, answers, insights, and tips and most importantly support each other along the journey to and through PA school.

We aim to preserve the quality of the group at all times, so the rules are strictly enforced.

You may be removed and banned from the group if you break the rules.

1. NO BENDING THE TRUTH TO ENTER THE GROUP.

This group is for people preparing for PA school. You are also welcomed (and encouraged) to stay in the group once you get into PA school.

But, the group is not for those already practicing as a PA or those looking to sell products or services to pre-PA students.

On occasion, you will see PAs in the group or other professionals who are not pre-PA students but are here to help you. I personally added those people, and they did not bend the truth to get into the group.

If you work your way into the group dishonestly, you will be removed and banned without warning.

2. NO SELF-PROMOTION OR REDIRECTING.

No selling anything of any kind or posting to your website or social profiles. It's fine to ask for recommendations on resources, but selling or promoting products is not allowed.

No promotion of other FB groups inside this group.

**Note: I may break this rule and promote something if I feel it is of service to the group. I reserve that right as it's my group and community. If you are not okay with that, you can remove yourself at any time.**

3. NO POSTING OF VIDEOS.

No posting or sharing of any videos, your own or otherwise.

4. NO "FULL STATS" POSTS.

Please don't post your full personal stats and academic history to ask if you “have a chance.” When you ask more focused questions, the answers you receive will be more useful to you and may be helpful to other group members as well. There are forums where you can post these types of questions, but this group is not the place for it.

5. KEEP IT PUBLIC.

Don't create a post asking people to DM you for more details or with an answer to your question.

The purpose of the community is for us to all help each other, and helping behind closed doors defeats the purpose.

6. NO DM-ING ADMINS FOR PERSONAL ADVICE.

I created this group (and my blog) to help as many pre-PA students as possible. Because it would mean I never sleep, I don't answer requests for personal advice through DM. If you have a question, please post it in the group.

If you're interested in private coaching services where we could work one-on-one, sign up for a free Discovery Session

7. NO SHARING OF SPECIFIC PA SCHOOL INTERVIEW QUESTIONS.

Revealing school-specific interview questions may go against a non-disclosure agreement and may disqualify you from attending a program. Not all schools have these agreements, but as a safety measure to you and the group, no sharing of specific interview questions is allowed.

You are permitted to discuss interview styles, what to expect at an interview, and any information that has been publicly shared by a program.

8. BE NICE.

Be polite and respect people's feelings and different perspectives.

If you're a jerk, you'll be removed and banned.

9. BE HELPFUL.

Ask questions, give answers. Provide helpful feedback and suggestions to others.

You are joining the group for support in your journey to be a PA, so be a support to others when you can.

Someone will always be a few steps behind you and someone else will be a few steps ahead. If you want to take advantage of the resources here, make sure you are sometimes a resource for someone else.

10. FOLLOW POSTS SMOOTHLY.

If you're interested in following responses to someone else's post, turn on notifications for the post (video on how to do this in one click below). Commenting with "following" or with a single character notifies the author about responses to their post that aren't the help they are looking for.

HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF THIS GROUP

1. Share your thoughts and experiences — they are valuable to others.

Feel free to post even when you aren't asking a question. Just found out something that you think other pre-PA students would benefit from knowing? Post about it!

2. Don't be embarrassed about what you might not (yet) know.

There's no one way to start preparing for PA school, and most of our paths are a bit meandering. I find out new information every week, and I've been a PA for over a decade.

This group is a way for you to get answers fast without having to spend hours scouring the internet for an answer. Use it to your advantage!

3. If you show up just to post your questions and not help out your fellow community members, they notice.

To get the best answers to your questions, engage on both sides of the group. Share your experience when someone else asks a question.

You'll get more responses to your own questions and posts when you've helped out others.

That's it!

We're all excited to get to know you! Head on over to the Be a PA Community to join us!
